A GOP Debate, an Obama Speech, and Sarah Palin

David Karki

The last three days could not illustrate better just how far American politics have fallen as of late, and what it will take to resuscitate it and the nation from the coma into which President Obama has put it.

Start with tonight’s Republican Debate. One could call them the Seven Dwarfs, so little do they look while they obediently jump through the ridiculous hoops presented to the by the biased media that effectively works for Obama.

And even when they have glimmer of understanding how obviously they’re being manipulated, as Newt Gingrich did when he criticized moderator Brian Williams of NBC News for trying to instigate squabbles amongst them rather than allowing them to target Obama, they still stupidly play the game. After all, this was a MSNBC/Politico debate – what the hell else did the seven fools think they were going to get from two blatantly liberal outlets? If any of them really believed in what Newt said, to say nothing of having an ounce of strategic thinking, they would never have bothered showing up for this rigged dog-and-pony show in the first place!

Which brings me to the Joe Isuzu twins, Governors Romney and Perry. Admittedly, if elections were won based on who has the most presidential looking hair, suit, and smile, these two would be WAY ahead of the pack. Substantively, however, you can’t help but feel like you’ve just been smooth-talked by a smarmy used car salesman after listening to anything either says. I’m actually glad that the media has declared these two RINOs to be the ostensible front-runners, since their combined prefabricated-ness will increase the distrust of both all the more, and help the two Ken dolls cancel each other out all the sooner.

As for Obama’s ridiculous Even More Of The Same That’s Already Massively Failed Address, this falls under the old political axiom: when your opponent is busy committing suicide, get out of the way and let him. Speaker Boehner was right to decline a GOP response, thereby not adding any gravity to the speech as well as not giving Obama and the Dems a target to shoot at.

And while I would personally love to see a TV with the Saints/Packers pre-game set up off to the side for the GOP members to watch while they pretend to listen to Obama read his delusional drivel from the teleprompters, they’re right to be minimally respectful and show up and go through the motions. Again, don’t give your opponent a target or any chance to shift the spotlight away from him and onto you.

This speech is the political equivalent of the old philosophical riddle:  If Obama gives a poor imitation of a State of the Union Address, and everyone is watching the NFL opener instead, did he really make a complete fool of himself?

Finally, to Sarah Palin. She has been so right to avoid this whole farcical show. She already has 100% name recognition, will have tons of cash from Tea Partiers the moment she declares, and Snow White might as well let the Seven Dwarfs form the circular firing squad the media would have them make while she stays safely above and out of the fray.

Moreover, in her speeches in Iowa and New Hampshire ripping both parties for “crony capitalism” and Facebook post on the Obama-approved call for union violence against Tea Partiers by Jimmy Hoffa, Jr., she laid out more detailed plans and laid into Obama with a ferocity none of the other candidates would dare – or be allowed to by the Obamedia running the debates.

Palin simply isn’t going to play the usual game by the establishment’s rules. As Dr. Phil says, if you’re going to do what you’ve always done, you’re going to get what you’ve always gotten. In that case, it’s the media trying to produce the most liberal GOP “opponent” possible for the Democrat, which the conservative Tea Party base will hate. This will help an otherwise doomed Democrat have a chance to win, even if it must be alá Clinton 1992:  a slim plurality in a three-way race. And if even that isn’t enough, then at least the GOP winner will be the most leftist of the group, ensuring that nothing the Democrat has created will be touched, much less dismantled.

In other words, the game is to create a completely phony “choice” between a hardcore and a watered-down leftist come Election Day, so that the entire exercise is rigged, pointless and the establishment stays, well, established for another four years.

The Seven Dwarfs are mindlessly playing this silly game with the crooked dealer and entirely pre-determined outcome to benefit the house, and even when they occasionally realize the con job, none of them has the spine to fold their hand and cash out to save what chips they have left. Palin, on the other hand, was smart enough never to sit at the table in the first place.

That’s why she’s so hated – her refusal to step into their best-laid traps and fearlessness in directly calling Obama out make her every bit the existential threat to the establishment that Obama is to America. And let’s not forget the whole first female president thing, the gender card which trumps the race card that you know Obama will play hard if all else fails.

Small wonder then, that the media is doing everything possible to claim it’s too late for Palin and that she polls horribly – the simplest way to beat her is for her to never get in the race and the next simplest is to get her in too early so they can beat up on her as long as possible.

Yes, Sarah will have to officially get in soon in order to be on the ballot in IA and NH, but why on earth should she expose herself to enemy fire any sooner than absolutely necessary? And if the point of such an unconventional campaign is to break the establishment’s hold, then the first step is to refuse to kowtow to their unwritten rules.

Does this come at some risk? Sure. Could it fail? Sure. But could it succeed? Absolutely. And if the alternative is another round of a phony choice between a Democrat versus RINO chosen by the media, with the policy outcome rigged as a result, then why not go for broke? From where I stand, it’s the only chance to beat ‘em…the only chance to save the Republic.

And if nothing else, it’ll be damned entertaining and hilarious watching the media and left go absolutely bonkers…

Untill this morning, I’ve been searched for a spark of old-fashioned logic…..and pretty well gave up trying.
Damn Mr.K! Now thats what I’m talking about!!!!
Your insight would split Chris Matthew smerky head in half!
God bless your parents young man, they produced a WINNER!

  • Ron:

Thank you sir for this brilliant insight.

  • dawnelle:

Awesome read!! very meaty! very satisfying! Like a Great Rib EYE (on the ball) Steak!! Thanks! Sharing.

  • susiepuma:

Glad to know that I am not alone in believing that the longer she waits, the better it gets – the dwarfs will take each other out and it will be final show between the fraud and Sarah – far as I am concerned, it will be slam dunk & Sarah Palin will become the 45th President of the United States – November 2012 – Game On……………….

  • Raymond:

As I have been telling many times before, SARAH PALIN is such a smart cookie!!! She may not read all kinds of liberal newspapers, but one thing for sure, she reads and practices by heart the ART OF WAR by Sun Tzu….know well your enemies and expose them and make them first as the baits before making a blitz attack that nobody can stop your mighty hordes. She used to be point guard in basketball…mark this down!

  • Troy:

HMMM wonder if your a Conservitive or Liberal!?! lmao

  • Angelo:

What a night….just wasted my time!! I have seen the debate last night and to tell you guys frankly, the most things that i heard from all these seven dwarfs are self-uplifting and stabbing each other’s back. Gosh, seven dwarfs, your common enemy is Obama, why not discuss on issues regarding Obama’s weak leadership?? Hey Erickson and rest of Fox news pundits, are these the kind of presidentiables you want to insist to be the next potus?? Give me a break intellectual assholes!! I am no fan of Sarah Palin, but frankly, i can see strong leadership in Sarah and I believe she is the only GOP who can take on Obama…period!!

  • Max Leygrume:

    Angelo –

Well put. That debate was a fiasco …. driven by liberal msnbc. The 7 stepped squarely into that steaming pile.

On Palin : At some point during this election , EVERYONE must see ‘Undefeated’ . It’s an absolute must for anyone not so intellectualy lazy that they accept the bias and lies of the media – including Fox News.

Palin is the one. I believed this from the beginning – but after The Undefeated (2 hours long!) I also believe the rest of America , both sides of the isle , will support her.

    You should too …..

  • Juliana Prechter:

Excellent article. After listening to Coulter and Ingraham rattle away about the Palin tease, your intellect is refreshing in noting the brilliant strategy of Palin. It’s about time that we have someone willing to face cronyism and corruption with audacity and boldness. It’s about time that an individual, Palin, is willing to carry a torch, stand firm for truth, be a risk taker and blaze a new path amidst the rhinos and mockers.

  • Deb:

Brilliant! So refreshing to read a sane, thought-filled perspective that just so happens to be right on…and as stated in previous post(s) … game on!!! Our mainstream media is shameful and embarassing. I know many well educated, intelligent people with exceptional communication skills..What are the qualifications for media commentators???? Anyway, my applause to your well done message.

  • Myron Karki:

Thanks you Charles Rogers. As Dave’s parents, we are indeed proud of him and find his views right on almost all the time and especially in this case! We appreciate the comments from fellow readers! Hang in there conservatives!

Bravo David. You nailed it on all points. Well done.

  • Bill589:

Her political history would have been good enough, but add to that the ceaseless vetting, books and the their ‘fact finders’, 24,000 emails forced open, fighting Obama since even before ‘Death Panels’ and long before a campaign . . .

Sarah Palin has earned trust. She has earned all that oxygen she still sucks out of the room.

And she has earned my vote. Sarah Palin 2012

  • That was excellent. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas. Only a few more days…

  • Doods:

    Amen mr!

  • Raymond:

flash news from New York City!! Have you read the editorials lately from New York Times that Palin is slowly winning the hearts and minds of the independents and liberals after they watched and listened to her speech at Indianola and NH?? And this one more big thing, the latest PPP polls in North Carolina shows Palin now leading Obama by 14 points among independents.

  • Jonathan Poletti:

Thanks much, well said. Will bookmark you for the coming campaign.

  • I pray that people educate themselves this election cycle because so much is at stake for our Republic. To start get fair counter points to the lies about Sarah Palin is to watch “Undefeated”.

  • Carmelo Junior:

Its interesting how the two Minnesotans fell to the ground: first Pawlenty and now Bachmann. After buying the Iowa straw poll she is on 5th place in all polls even behind whacko Ron Paul.

Bachmann will stay to see her 3 or 4th place in Iowa caucus. After that she will drop out and endorse Palin.

Perry is not going to win Iowa or New Hamphire. Romney will not win Iowa or South Carolina.

Only one person can carry Iowa, NH and SC and mybe Michigan: Sarah Palin.

If Palin does not runs or is the nominee, get ready for 4 more years of Obama guarantee. Then see how polls start to send Perry and Romney to hell. They would have accomplished what they wanted: take Sarah Palin out.

  • Carmelo Junior:

I think Sarah will send the BIG SIGNAL on the 23 of this month(Call B&M show), start filling papers for presidential run, visit South Carolina and MICHIGAN or other BIG SIGNAL before her formal announcement.

By the way I predict here Sarah Palin will win the New Hamphire and MICHIGAN primaries knocking out Romney!

She might be close to win Nevada.

  • david:

Why should she like you say enter early and get beat up longer?Palin and Glasner are no fools. If people have doubts shes running they just have to watch her signals more.I remember in 2010 she wrote 3 things on her hand 1 was lift American spirits, lower taxes and energy independence. She made sure the media seen her hand and they went nuts attacking her as stupid, she had to write notes on her hand ect.The next day at a Perry rally in Texas she made sure they all could see her hand which had Hi Mom written on it.She knows how to jerk their chain as her June bus tour proved again.Fast forward to September in Iowa.It was said in one of her previous Iowa visits Todd told her “you better not go for your daily run here, they(her supporters)will take that as a signal your running.”She never ran in any of her Iowa visits untill she joined the jump right in marathon in Storm Lake Iowa September 4th the very next mornning after her huge speech.A local reporter wrote this,”Palin stayed at the back of the pack for as long as she possibly could. Then shot out to the front of it running hard.”Palins an experienced well conditioned runner. She runs 3-5 miles daily. She could of ran that entire race with the front of the pack without a problem. She told us using the media,in this case just a local reporter(she avoided bringing the LSM media to avoid a spectacle obviously).Shes running, but shes not entering on their timetable, shes entering when she knows it will make the biggest impact. One last point the establishments smart as well. They have 1 or 2 more big guns on the sidelines waiting for her to enter. They will try and use them to try and stop her mommentum in its tracks.Like Perry did to Bachmann after her straw poll victory.Watch when she does enter a Giulianni or Cristie will suddenly decide to run as well.I hope she takes her time and forces the establishment to pull out their last line of defense first. She said the end of September but mid October like Clinton in 1991 announced late, would force their hand.It will be interesting to see if she delays untill then, forcing the GOP to bring their last horse into the race first.Would it matter if she delayed another 2 weeks? At first it would be an upraor, but that would die down fast once the newest GOP establishment pick enters.I think her trip to S Korea was planned on purpose to miss that Oct debate and see their pick in action in it first.I think she will be a just declared candidate on that trip. Her speech at that event overseas, will be a massive media frenzy, causing worldwide coverage of it on TV,like Obamas Germany speech did in 2008.In that speech she will drop another policy ace on the table that will rock the establishment as her first ace hitting the table in Iowa did. Here are her exact words that still enable her to wait another 2 weeks and force the GOP to bring out there last horse first.Notice she did not fully commit to the end of September.”I think that just practically speaking that has to be kind of a drop dead time.” Notice she left the door open with has to be KIND OF a drop dead time.Heres another line: Q:”So the end of September would still be your timetable?”
Palin: “That is still a possibility for a timetable. Yes, definitely.” Notice that word possibility.I think she will hold off untill mid October and force the GOPs last horse into the race.Oh the fun of speculation.

  • alien4palin:

Thank you Kevin. Brilliant summary of the political landscape!I have made no effort to watch the debates until Sarah is in.

Most people focus on getting to the white house, then start the cleaning of the sick culture that is destroying America. The same sick culture that has mostly destroyed Europe. Sarah,a born leader of vision sees the complete big picture.

In the past 3 years, Sarah had been busy on a reformation binge every step of the way to 2010 & 2012 and simultaneously rousing & educating the public. She knows what is ailing America and she had the experience & know how to fix it working with We, the People. The establishments have deliberately created an election culture that guarantee to retain power & business as usual sacrificing America & her people.

And these so called smart folks called her stupid. I have a good laugh at them if it wasn’t for the fact that some smart good folks are naively taken in by them.

  • Mike:

Overall a very astutely written article except for lumping Ron Paul in with the other clowns on the stage at the GOP debate.

I support Palin for POTUS because based upon her record in Gov of accomplishing more in two years for jobs in AK than any of the players on the stage have done in their entire careers.

She is the only one with the smarts, political acumen and guts to clean up the Beltway.

However, Ron Paul is a great American whose ideas have been moving slowing into the American conscious. So to lump him with the others on the stage at the debate was simply wrong.

    Excellent read David, Thanks.

  • jeaneeinabottle:

I think everyone should buy the movie The Undefeated and show it to your friends and family. So make up your minds if you want to be part of the solution or the problem. It will be up to us what the outcome will be. Keep praying and saving!!! :) grrrr !

  • Just popped over (from C4P)to read your whole article. Very well written, full of truth and witty enough to hold my full attention.

Anyone who would support another person besides Sarah Palin is either a MAROON or socialist/commie. In her 2 and 1/2 years as the Governor of Alaska, she averaged 88-93% favorability. She accomplished this by appealing to both Democrats and Republicans, which, of course, ended when she became VP for McCain. The head of the snake, i.e. elite Dems. and Reps. who believe that they “should retain power over the unwashed” forever – put out the WORD to destroy her.

On the other hand, we (as in millions and millions) of Americans, are, for the 1st time ever (maybe) getting involved and our “(royalty)” is scared shitless because they know that their power and ability to destroy our Constitution is coming to an end.

I know, rant makes no sense, so GOD BLESS SARAH PALIN & FAMILY. AMEN!

  • JJ in SarahSota:

    “BOOM! Taste my nightstick!”

    Well done David :)

  • Gary Ogletree:

The other guys still haven’t figured out the media is dedicated to destroying them. Newt complains, but he still shows up to be spun by the Orcs. Saul Alinsky is the key Democrat strategist this election. I suspect Hoffa and Trumpka are reading White House produced scripts, they really have Saul’s stench on them. The political elites know the real threat comes from an awakened citizenry, not the GOP. But Sarah keeps knocking them off balance when they try the same old stuff with her. Stock up on popcorn.

  • Controse:

Keep the well expounded great insights coming. Being able to run a half marathon on the spur of the moment says a lot about character. Imagine the discipline it takes to maintain that level of conditioning given all her other activities and responsibilities.
