Bob Maistros

As a further public service, we felt it would be useful to expand our recent Obama Glossary to cover terms in presidential statements on the UN Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen and the Senate’s version of health care “reform:”

Communications between the Rookie President and Dear Leader

Yet another exclusive! We have obtained the recent exchange of personal correspondence between President Barack Obama and North Korean leader Kim Jong Il:

Dear Supreme Leader Kim,

Ha Ha! Jokes on you, Rookie President!

Ha Ha! Joke's on you, Rookie President!

I wanted to write you personally, because I truly believe you have the best interests of both the people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the world community at heart. As you know, I am a great believer in the power of direct communications to break through diplomatic logjams. I almost wish I could have you and Lee Myung-bak over to the White House for a beer! I’ll bet we could talk a lot of things out.  Read the rest of this entry »

Rachel Maddow:  Sure.  And tell a Spaniard that King Carlos is second rate…

The more you don't know . . .

The more you don't know . . .

Mike Murphy:  King Carlos knows deep down he’s second rate to the president of the United States…

Discussion (edited for clarity and brevity) on President Barack Obama’s trip to Copenhagen, Meet the Press, October 4, 2009,

It is unlikely one would have to convince Spanish King Juan Carlos that he is not as significant an international figure as any American president. Unlike MSNBC commentator Rachel Maddow, the Spanish King is surely fully aware of this reality. Most world leaders understand this implicitly with the possible exception of megalomaniac dictators and sometimes French presidents. But deep down, even these exceptions aren’t really exceptions.
